Advocating for a substance misuse free environment
SAFE in Harlem is a student-led coalition that meets after school to work on grassroots campaigns that promote abstinence from substance misuse. SAFE in Harlem youth produce town halls, Public Service Announcements, community service events, videos and artistic installations in tandem with a network of Harlem-based health and education organizations with similar missions.
Our Vision
We envision a Harlem where teens, youth and young adults are abstinent from substance use and misuse, with a network of organizations dedicated to supporting and empowering Harlem’s youth to achieve and maintain a substance-misuse free lifestyle.
Our Mission
We aim to establish a community-based substance misuse prevention coalition capable of effecting community-level change, in order to reduce youth substance misuse of drugs and alcohol.
