For Parents

Established in 2015, SAFE In Harlem has secured over a million dollars in funding, enabling us to offer evidence-based parenting courses. As certified trainers of several evidence-based programs, we provide a comprehensive approach to support your parenting journey. Our programs focus on nurturing healthy family dynamics and addressing specific challenges at different stages of child development.

Joining our parenting programs will not only enhance your parenting skills but also foster a sense of community and connection with other parents. Together, we can build a supportive network that contributes to the well-being and development of both parents and children.

The SAFETY Net

If you're a parent seeking educational and engaging afterschool activities for your children, consider SAFE in Harlem after-school programs. Led by teens and guided by coalition members, these programs involve weekly collaboration addressing the prevention of substance use and corresponding environmental factors. Teens design logic models, formulate 12-month action plans, and implement community projects like murals, campaigns, basketball leagues, health fairs, and more.

During our SAFETY Net hours on Mondays and Thursdays from 2 PM to 5 PM, we offer prevention initiatives alongside services such as games, movies, tutoring, music, and mentorship opportunities.

Strengthening Families

We are trained facilitators of the Strengthening Families Evidence-Based Practice (EBP). The Strengthening Families Program (SFP) is a specialized family skills training program strategically crafted to enhance resilience and diminish risk factors associated with behavioral, emotional, academic, and social challenges in children aged 3-16.

The SFP consists of three comprehensive life-skills courses, each conducted over 14 weekly sessions lasting 2 hours each.

If you're interested in participating in SFP, please email fpullen@lets-talk-safety.org.
